Can you sing, dance, tell jokes or do anything really great?

Do you want to show Oskaloosa that you have Talent?

OCT is looking for the most talented people in Oskaloosa!
No matter what your talent, no matter what your experience level, and no matter how unique your act is, if you think you have talent, we want to see you!

Please read all the important information on this page to ensure you have a smooth audition.

Auditions on November 1 from 2:00 to 4:00pm and November 3 from 7:00 to 9:00pm

THE PAPERWORK


Performers will be required to fill out an audition form upon arrival and will need a small photo of the individual or group.  There is a $5 entry fee for each act.

PERFORMANCE RULES


1. All participants must be able to perform on all nights up to and including the nights of November 21 & 22.  In addition, rehearsal times will be set up between November 3 & 22.

2. If participants are under the age of 18, they must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian throughout the process.

3. Auditioners will be allowed two minutes for setup and up to three minutes for the audition.

4. Singers are required to provide any backup music they need.

5. Songwriters/Musicians/Rappers - You may sing/rap to a track of an original work or cover, and/or play your own instrument(s).

6. Auditioners must provide any special equipment needed.  Electrical outlets and stage area are all O.C.T. will provide.  Equipment setup and strike shall be the responsibility of the performers.  Backstage storage assignments will be made by O.C.T. staff.

7. Oskaloosa Has Talent will be a family friendly show, so no offensive or adult content will be allowed.

8. Performers who use a backing track must bring a CD. A backup copy of the CD is suggested in case there's a problem playing the first.

9. No fire, sharp objects, weapons, or explosives (pyrotechnics) will be allowed.

10. All technical questions will be directed to our technical director, who will comply with all feasible requests.

11. No special lighting effects will be provided by O.C.T.

12. OCT director(s) will have final word on suitability of act content and artistic application.

THE COMPETITION

 

Oskaloosa Has Talent will be a talent show. 

A prize package will be given to the acts picked by audience vote, and to the one which raised the most money during November.

Order of performance will be determined by OCT personnel.

Each performance must be under 10 minutes in length.

Any participant may collect money or sell presale tickets on his/her own to add to the totals in the official container.

All tax deductible checks written to O.C.T. and placed in the official container will also be added to the contestant’s total for the money raising award ONLY.

Additional money collection is optional and, to prevent abuse, an official OCT badge will be issued to those who choose to do this in order to verify their status.  The public will be alerted not to contribute unless this document is presented by those collecting money or checks.
