Death By Chocolate
By Paul Freed
Directed by Dr. Jim North
Auditions - August 25 & 26 at 7PM
Members of the newly renovated Meadowbrook Health Resort are dropping like flies, including famed chef Edith Chiles! On the eve of the grand re-opening, this is not the best advertisement! It's up to John Stone, the manager, to find the cause and the murderer. Delightfully sarcastic and cynical. Stone finds himself teaming up with Ed Parlor, mystery writer and amateur sleuth, in a wacky race against time. The clues point to a sinister box of chocolates, and the suspects include all the outlandish characters working for the resort. Could it be Lady Riverdale, owner of the resort, and a woman with dark secrets? Or Ralph Deadwood, gym instructor and all around cad? Dick Simmering, the aerobics instructor? Anne, the panic stricken nurse? Or could it be “Sweet Pea” Meadowbrook, overweight and grieving daughter of the recently deceased founder of the resort? Combining all the elements of classic murder mysteries with a scathing satire of today's health crazes.

The Butler Did It...Again
By Tim Kelly
Directed by Kimberly Ekes
Written by the “master of the outrageous comedy mysteries,” this is a much requested follow-up to the ever-popular The Butler Did It. Publisher and socialite, Miss Maple rents a plantation house, complete with menacing alligator, in the frightening swap land of Louisiana. She wants to introduce her latest literary discovery, Ruth Dice, who has written a first novel entitled Conversations with a Ghoul. Ruth has only contempt for the guests. Classic detective prototypes like tough Chandler Marlow, chic Manhattan couple Rick and Laura Carlyle, westerner Tony Tallchief. She dismisses Louie Fan and gentle Father White as has-been hacks. Naturally, she's the perfect candidate for murder. However, it's the bizarre owner of the house of secrets, Jasper Van Dine, who's discovered in the parlor with a scalpel once belonging to Jack the Ripper in his back!
WHODUNNIT!? It's up to the flakey detective writers to unravel the puzzle. Chills, thrills, alibis, clues, motives, and dazzling plot twists fly about the stage like pies-in-the-face. Nothing is what it seems to be and you'll need a scorecard to keep track of who's who and what's what. Smoke and mirrors, fun and games - from start to finish. Bring a seat belt!
